1. MOST IMPORTANTLY - PROTECT YOUR SKIN

Coming into contact with molten hot melt adhesives can cause sever burns. These adhesives reach temperatures in between 250°F to 420°F. This is plenty hot enough to cause sever damage to your skin. At temperatures as low as 160°F, third degree burns can occur).

Both the hot melt gun and the hot melt adhesive itself have the potential to burn. It is advisable to ensure protective, heat resistant gloves are warn to avoid any unnecessary injury.

2. CHECK EQUIPMENT FOR DAMAGE BEFORE USE

Take the time to check equipment over to ensure there is no damage before use. Any damaged electrical equipment should be treated as a potential hazard.

3. PROTECT SURFACES WELL PRIOR TO USE

Removing adhesive from surfaces can be a difficult job. For this reason, taking the time to prepare and protect the work area prior to use is advisable.

4. NEVER LEAVE EQUIPMENT UNATTENDED WHILST SWITCHED ON

5. KEEP THE HOT MELT GLUE GUN AWAY FROM FLAMMABLE MATERIALS AS WELL AS WET OR MESSY SURFACES

6. DO NOT TILT THE HOT MELT GUN NOZZLE UPWARDS OR ATTEMPT TO USE ON OVERHEAD JOBS
